September 17, 2009

Today Grace earned enough stickers for her chart to get this duck duck duck goose game. She's been anticipating being able to play with it all week but was so proud to be earning it.

She was just so delighted.

Suki tries to open a cheese stick.

Concentrating.

Kate loves to head for the street at any given opportunity. Here she looks back as I tell her no.

Ready to go to school.

These girls think it is hilarious to joke about how "Mama's going to bump something!"

Grace loves the freedom to roam around the car when we're in the drop off line.

So happy.

Grace is pleased as punch to be heading in for her third Red Star day in a row. I wondered if three days in a row would be too much, especially at the beginning of the school year. No, it was not too much -- she loves her class, adores her teachers, is making friends in her Red Star room. I could not be any happier with all of it.

Suki, Kate and I went to our neighborhood playground before the rain set in and were happy to find our friends Nishani and Amir arriving at the same time.

Amir is such a sweet boy -- he and Kate are slated for the same preschool class in two years.

We returned home when the rain started in earnest -- you can see Suki going in the garage and Kate making her typical beeline for the street.

Looking shocked in the rain.

Looking doubtful.

Then it was time for some drawing and painting.

Oh, sweet marker! How can I resist a little nibble?

A tickled sister.

My fun, funny Sook.

Hugging while looking out at the rain.

Suki's been watching Grace work on these word boards and while her sister was at school she really enjoyed practicing them herself.

Another great day for Grace at school. I know, all of this excitement seems over the top but it's just such a relief to have things going so well.

A red, red painting.

My little sweet pea.
