Kate up close.

Suki hangs out with Dad.

Grace smiles with her Furberry.

She can't resist this book!

This afternoon we dropped Grace and Suki off at their friend Mia's house to play. Kate had an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist and we knew her sisters would not think that was a good time.

As we were being discharged on Friday, the pediatrician on call gave Kate a final once over, she detected a non-innocent heart murmur.

Kate gets checked out with an EKG. She was relaxed through most of the painless procedure to detect electrical activity but did not like it when the adhesive electrodes were removed.

Waiting for the echocardiogram.

Kate slept entirely though this process, basically an ultrasound of her heart.

Thank goodness there are professionals to read this thing. It revealed a small hole between her left and right ventricles. There was also a flap between the right and left atrium that is usually pushed closed at birth and this did not happen in Kate's heart. The good news is that these problems are not expected to cause any real effects for her and should resolve themselves within 6-12 months. We've got a follow up appointment scheduled for the beginning of October and it's hard to imagine how much different our lives will be then!

Fun in the car on the way home. They had a blast with their friend Mia! We're all looking forward to a day of relaxation and rest tomorrow.

Suki enjoys reading with a friend of ours while Dad takes Kate to the phlebotomist.

Running so fast!

Three sisters.

A sleepy girl after her outing.

Grace reads to Kate.

What a big yawn!

Some close ups of Kate.

Suki loves her sister.

And Grace is crazy about her sister too.

Dad takes Suki and Grace over to play with a friend so that he, Kate and I could head out for some doctor's appointments.

Dad takes a quick peek in at Kate before we go into the hospital for a bilirubin check.

A little milk to calm her down.

Off to a well baby visit. Her bilirubin levels are still a little high, hopefully they'll be better tomorrow!

Checking head circumference. Her weight has started to rebound from a drop down to 9 lbs 5 oz yesterday to 9 lbs 8 oz today.

Waiting for a couple more exams.

Ready to head home.

Close up.

Our wonderful friends who played with Grace and Suki this morning.

Grace had so much fun playing with this cat!

The cat is still ready to play!

Curled up after a busy morning.

Grace and Suki have had such a great time adjusting to the new dimensions of our family. There has been none of the bad behavior we'd anticipated and instead just sweet kisses, rocking Kate in the swing and generally talking about their sister in such a kind way. It's been a great first day back home.

Today is also Suki's 500th day! We are so lucky to have our Sook.

So close already.

I loved this picture.

A beautiful fruit arrangement from some of Mom's family!

Ready to hit the road after a very long day.

One of many sweet welcomes.

Suki loves swinging her sister!

Looking in on Kate.

A recheck of Kate's jaundice happens on an outpatient basis tomorrow -- keep your fingers crossed!
