Don't you just love Grace's bird picture?

She mimics the surprise her own tiny bird in her hand must feel upon seeing such a gorgeous drawing.

Showing one bird to another.

She just charms me.

Suki fills the crystal home with beads.

A towering Kate about to pursue a ride on the back of Suki's little blue engine.

Grace gives Suki a kiss.

Look at how happy it makes sweet Suki to get such attention from her big sister.

Then, a kiss for Kate.

Singing.

Chomping a straw, as is her way.

Suki practices clapping along to the music.

My little beauty.

Apparently not too sure about what's on tv.

Kicking!

Balancing the animals on her knees like hats.

A ladybug ice cream cone!

Pretending to sleep.

So sleepy!

Grace and Suki work on a sticker/marker art project with David.

Kate plunders Suki's jewelry while her sister is away.

Looking over to show me how she realizes that shaking a lamp is wrong... but she can hardly resist doing it anyway.

Suki builds a tower with David.

Grace arranges some of her tiny animals.

Kate curls up with David.

Grace links her monkey tails together.

Cuddled up on the couch.

We were getting into the car and as usual, this meant running around in the driveway for a minute. it's been so hot, sunny and humid here that the girls usually make a beeline for the car but today was cooler and cloudy and so they enjoyed their time outside a bit more.

We went to our friend Mia's house to play with her, Owen, and their friend Rachel. I love these three making funny faces and playing Polly Pockets together.

Kate and Owen shared toys very nicely but you can tell Kate's in a lunchtime mood here.

In fact, when Suki heard the word "lunch" she went straight to the table and took her seat. She stayed there while Beth made macaroni and cheese, washed fruit, plated everything -- she would not be moved.

A lunchtime crowd.

We got Suki's diagnosis today after her MRSA culture came back negative -- she's got linear eczema, treatable with the steroid foam we have. We are so relieved.

Tonight we had some friends over for a pizza party:
They have faces, I swear, but they also have a strong sense about privacy and so I blurred them out just a bit. Suki loved chasing and our friends started a new game where Kate flung her (empty) plate to the ground and they would run to pick it up. Everyone was laughing so hard we adults could barely hear each other in the next room.

Grace had so much fun putting an animal on each stair.

Sweet Kate.

About to smile...

...missed it.

Reading her book.

Full of giggles.

Archie the orangutan is in the car!

Suki thought this beater was a blast.
