Three with the girls enjoying the beautiful fall weather.

So much fun on the swings!

Grace kept wanting to swing up to the moon -- see it over the trees?

Suki is growing up so fast.

You never get to see pictures of the back of her head, but her hair is growing in so fast now.

Also, can you see she has streaks of almost white hair on top? I love her hair.

After this we drove around and looked at Halloween decorations, then watched It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown while eating lunch. After a nap and an early dinner, it was time for trick or treating!

Our lovely little bumblebee!

And our sweet little flower!

Dad and his girls ready to hit the cul de sac.

Heading down the sidewalk.

Toted around by Dad.

Trick or treat!

Back at home checking out their loot.

Little Miss Order lining her candy up in a row.

First lollipop ever!

Desperately trying to crack into a Snickers bar.

Chocolate face!

October 30, 2007

Today we took a little trip to Wal-Mart, the girls loved it because of all of the fun things to see and do there.

Watching the fish swim.

Watching the trees sing.

Yes, this store surely has it all, including a big girl bed for Grace (see the pillow propped up behind her?). Today she just wanted to look at the box in her room but I think she'll let me put it together tomorrow. I suggested she give Suki her crib for a birthday present, and idea that was a hit (at least in theory, we'll see how it goes in practice). Stay tuned for more updates on The Adventures of Grace and the Big Girl Bed!

A much quieter day, with a trip to the store and some time playing outside.

This last one is especially worth embiggening.

October 28, 2007

So you remember how yesterday we talked about the party and parade on deck for today? Well forget about seeing photos of that because Suki took a terrible fall at breakfast today, which led to the emergency page to her pediatrician which led to the call to 911 which led to an ambulance ride for Suki and Dad that led to this photo here of Suki in the emergency room.

Suki all dressed up in her tiger hospital gown.

Concerned neighbors rushed to our house when they saw the ambulance outside and offered all kinds of help but ultimately it seemed like the best call to for Mom to bring Grace to the ER. Here, a concerned mook looks in on her sister.

We followed the ambulance and Grace brought Suki her little dogs to help make her feel better. Everyone gathered on the hospital bed between tests for Sook.

Such dear sisters. We were so relieved that Suki stayed still during the CT scan so a clear image could be obtained -- the doctors were concerned about potential bleeding in her brain but we got the all clear around 2 pm.

Needless to say, this was a very hard day for all of us. We're so happy to be back home safe and sound.

October 27, 2007

Our big day started with a trip to the library, where Grace found a new Little Quack book.

Suki looks around before heading over to the bookshelves. She loves pulling the books from the shelves and giving them to me! She's turned into a little talker now and will say "Thank you!" every time she hands us something or gives us a kiss. So cute.

Dad and Grace read some books.

Ever a girl with a plan, Suki pulls up on the back of Grace's chair to try to grab a bit of hair.

We had a fun (if late) lunch and then after a nap it was time to carve our pumpkin!

Suki enjoyed playing with the pieces carved from the pumpkin. Grace specified the jig-jag cut.

What a smile!

Looking through the menu of jack o'lantern options.

Giddy with excitement.

Grace peruses the different cuts a jack o'lantern can have.

Making her selections for eyes, nose, and mouth.

What great girls.

Busy carving.

Showing Grace how I drew the design before cutting.

Showing me the nose.

Suki takes a look.

All done! The square eyes, round nose, and mouth with one little tooth were all Grace's choice.

Suki takes a closer look at the lit jack o'lantern.

Grace loves it!

Reading before dinner.

Looking through the library books.

Dad loves to read to his girls.

After dinner we delivered candy to friends in the neighborhood and when we stopped to chat at one house Grace got her first look at adults in Halloween costumes. She was a little daunted but warmed up, especially when she saw one woman in a Daisy Duck costume. Tomorrow: a Halloween party and parade!
