June 15, 2009

Kate shows off her new walk.

She'll take a good four or five steps toward a nonmoving goal now, then flop onto it.

LinkSuki is Pirate Captain Moody -- ask her if she's a pirate and she'll clap a hand on her head and growl "Arrr!" as she sweeps the decks. Her basket is her little ship, in case you couldn't tell.

Grace and David are smacking their lips at their candy party.

She was delighted to have a few minutes eating button candy with her dad.

I am still astonished that Grace knows how to form every letter, given that she never practiced before she started writing out full words. That is quintessential Grace, though, keeping things under wraps until she really feels comfortable showing them off.

So awesome.

Suki wanted to go out to say hello to the bunny.

He watched her pretty closely.

She came very close...

...and got this close before he decided he ought to head for the hills.

Then we all came out to play and read.

This week we're thinking about things that fly, so these books were a lot of fun to look at.

Looking for airplanes.

Kate can climb into this chair by herself.

Grace comes in for a kiss.

Enjoying their book.

Beautiful even with her hair in her eyes.

Kate wants to get off that porch, through the lilies if need be.

She headed straight back for the slide to repeat her climbing lessons from yesterday.

At the top and ready to go!

These two are adorable together.

Suki prepares some tea.

The butterfly outside the window. One of the things I love best about that play house is that the huge windows let us see all kinds of things close up without the creatures knowing they are being observed. Until the shrieks of excitement commence, that is.

One of the strawberries from our patch. Are these really safe to eat? I can't think why not but it seems strange to just eat them.

Suki playing a peek a boo game.

A quiet moment with Grace and Kate.

Suki's singing Kate's calming song (Twinkle Twinkle) to quiet her fussy sister.

Kate applauds when she's done.

My little beauties.

Reaching for a plane.

Then it was time for the hose!

It's amazing how much fun they have with just a little water. Here Grace is filling her "environmentally correct birdbath," and thank you very much Ruby for introducing that term into our lives.

A girl, a moose and some reeds.

Suki takes her turn filling up the "bird bath."

Looking startled.

I just love this sly look from Grace.

One last show of my girls enjoying a snack.

Here are three videos we really enjoyed about planes, if you're interested.
