We hosted our neighborhood playgroup today -- here's Grace and Suki relaxing before our friends arrived.

Scout was the first friend to arrive, which was the only way this impromptu game of Chutes and Ladders was able to come off.
There was a little disagreement even while they were choosing their pieces about who was going to win (I think five year olds believe this is a predetermined aspect to the game). Fortunately, it didn't get very far -- they were still sweetly discussing the matter when our other friends came rolling in. And in the chaos that ensued, there was no way a board game was going to happen.
Kate relaxes after everyone else headed home. We had so much fun with lots of kids in the house, but you can imagine how loud with seven moms and ten kids rattling around.
I think this bug wandered in while the door was opening and closing all morning -- Grace and Suki loved watching it crawl around in this jar.
