July 25, 2009

After breakfast we settled into some old timey rocking chairs with some old timey candy sticks.

Then we returned to the stables so Suki could have a try at the horse riding.

Grace and Suki hugged and petted this dog, he was so friendly.

Petting the pony.

Grace took the first turn, by virtue of a conversation that was a bit confused and complicated but thankfully there were no hard feelings.

Then it was Suki's turn! It went must better than the last time she tried it a few months ago.

Just look at that sweet, happy face.

Kate had an opportunity to climb on too, but she did not want to sit there for long.

Then we had our tour of farm animals again. The little working farm on site was a huge attraction. There are lots of things there at the mountain that small children can enjoy, it was why we chose this spot for our vacation, but we found ourselves coming back to the same spots we loved so much before.

This was a game involving making cakes out of rocks.

Kate looks at the quail.

After naps, we made some leaf rubbings and yarn pompoms (I thought we were going to make gods eyes but it turned out I was meant to make pompoms).

Suki liked drawing leaves or drawing on the leaves rather than really making leaf rubbings but that was fine too.

Kate tries to chew the crayon box.

Back from a walk.

We went off to dinner in the middle of a rainstorm, so the girls were thrilled to have a chance to wear their raincoats.

After dinner, it was time to make s'mores. David shows Suki a good technique for toasting her marshmallow.

Trying to be patient enough to allow their marshmallows to heat.

Happily tasting their first s'mores.

Kate looks at our fire bowl and wishes there was a way she was quick enough to grab those flames.

A glow stick party before bed.
