February 11, 2010

Last night I made pizza dough (and, you know, pizza). This morning I used the leftover dough to make cinnamon rolls. Kate was thrilled to see hers.

Suki was delighted too.

Grace was so certain she wasn't going to like hers that she needed some convincing. This is how Grace reacts every time she sees a cinnamon roll, which has to happen at least half a dozen times a year. She agreed to smell mine, then she wanted a tiny nibble, then she wanted the whole roll. And another. And if memory serves, a third. They were really good rolls.

Suki helps Kate match words to pictures.

Thrilled when her sister gets one right!

Grace came to help too.

We discourage Kate from riding this dog but sometimes we let it go because she's just so cute.

These worksheets related to following patterns, matching written words to objects, finding hidden objects and Grace loved loved them. She always does enjoy a good worksheet.

Practicing holding the stencil very still while she colors.

Blue hand, blue mouth.

So cute with her coloring.

Coloring in her book.

Grace moved on to this math workbook and Suki pretended trees were carrots and colored them accordingly.

I wondered why Kate was so intensely brushing this paintbrush across the whiteboard -- when I came around to this side I realized she was brushing the rainbow alphabet away.

Total chimp.

My lovely little Grace.

Baseball time! This morning Suki batted pitches without the tee and was -amazing- at it.

Taunting the pitcher.

We had to watch out for Kate, who liked nothing more than to run up and down the track between us.

Spinning the globe.

She hit a home run!

More taunts.

Gleefully retrieving the ball. By the end of the day, we'd trained Kate to chase down any balls that went astray.

Kate applauds Suki after a particularly strong hit. My guys are awesome at being supportive of each other.

Reading in the sunlight.

Little drummer girl.
