November 3, 2009

Today we went in for parent teacher conferences at Grace's preschool.

The girls stayed in a classroom with the assistant teachers while we spoke to Miss Jamie down the hall.

Grace is much more at ease at school this year, incredibly polite to everyone and very happy socially. The only two things that could use a little work are her scissor skills and following a series of directions (like when a list of things are asked of her -- she's fine doing whatever is asked of her but doesn't really keep multiple requests in mind).

Afterward we went to play on the playground.

Ally came running up for a hug.

And then Teagan came up for a hug too.

Showing off her gorilla.

Suki was thrilled to have a friend in Abby to chase with.

Grace enjoyed riding on the fire truck with Jenny.

Suki chased after Grace A.

Playing ball together.

Then we came back home to ride the tricycle.

I finally hit upon the idea that Suki and Grace could push each other around, earning a ride of their own in the process. If they didn't push, they wouldn't be allowed another turn on the bike. It worked like a charm.

Kate didn't mind pitching in.

Waving the pinwheel.

Optimistic that we'll get the tricycle back out.

Afterward we opened a present from Granny -- Suki was thrilled to see all of the jewelry and this truck. It plays Cotton Eye Joe and dances, among other things. She gave Red Dog a ride and Grace wound up giving Gorilla a ride later.

Then we went off to vote.

All done! Our candidate did not prevail but we were happy to participate anyway.
