November 19, 2009

Today we got to celebrate with Grace during her Star of the Week celebration at preschool. It was so much fun being able to join her class. Grace wore her SOTW crown and sat in the SOTW chair. Miss Cheryl helped her introduce the members of her family.

Here she leads the class through a discussion of the month, day of the week, the weather outside, etc.

She adds today's date to the calendar.

Then Miss Cheryl read from the SOTW questionnaire, which included all kinds of information about Grace's favorite tv show, movie, book, etc.

Then we got to share some treats with the class -- each student was allowed to take a seat after answering a question about Grace, it was very sweet.

Suki and Kate were mostly excited to participate -- Suki had a tricky time understanding some of the rules of the classroom that the other students understood (like how to play with the kitchen) and she definitely did not like being treated like a baby by some of the other well intentioned children.

Checking out some books while everyone waited for their parents to pick them up. It was very interesting being on the inside during this process. I have no idea how things stay so quiet and smooth, these teachers definitely know what they're doing.

Grace gets a hug from Libby.

Out to the car and on the way to lunch!

I am sure you can guess where Grace chose to go.

Seeing her sweet friend Dillon from our neighborhood and from her class.

Then it was off to New York. We stopped at a mall for dinner on the way up and had a brief distraction at Claire's.

Sweet Sook. She actually ran into a bit of trouble when she started piling on handfuls of necklaces and then got tangled up -- she couldn't get out! We got her extricated and were very grateful to a clerk who helped us untangle the necklaces.

Grace loved these sparkly elastics.

Then we went to the Rainforest Cafe, Grace's favorite place and one that we all enjoy.

Such a fun place, so impossible to take a photo inside.

We made it to Grandma's house and settled in for the night.
