May 1, 2009

This morning I had a doctor's appointment and left David at the helm. As usual, he had a lot of fun and the girls did too. After the milkman made his delivery, David was putting the milk bottles in the refrigerator and then: disaster. Well, at least a disastrous mess. A bottle broke and a half gallon of milk went everywhere. The girls got a little treat of television to keep them distracted from the glassy, dairy clean up. All of this is to tell you why Kate is chimping it up with the remote and trying to drive Grace and Suki crazy.

Fun on the chair.

Grace was moved to the point of tears when she was told that she could (once again) not go play with the sand and water table. It was too chilly, rainy, windy, etc. She's really dying to be able to play with it again and so I rigged up a modified sand and water table in the dining room. We had to use something unchoke-able because of Kate, so rice, pasta and dried beans were out. We wound up with some corn meal and water dishes.

It was a big hit.

Kate looks on.

Then she joins in.

She couldn't believe her luck, with all of this splashy fun.

The messiest girls and the happiest smiles.

Can you see how these two are copying each other and making each other laugh?

Who knew mumbling in a cup could be so funny?

Holding up a rain coat against the window.
