May 10, 2009

This morning started with me sleeping in, David getting the girls dressed and then we all went downstairs for coffee and a tiny breakfast Then there was... an interlude of some unpleasantness, let's just say, because I don't want to horrify and disgust my sweet readers here on Mother's Day. It was uncertain for a bit whether we'd be able to go to our brunch as planned but then at the last minute we decided to throw caution to the wind and make it to our reservation.

Dad and Suki check out the menu...

...and the waiter.

Kate looks out the window.

Mom and Grace toast with some carrot juice and a bellini.

The waiter brought a delighted Kate a dough round to pinch, poke and play with.

Suki loved her apple juice.

Grace is intent on her fruit and yogurt.

Grace and Suki are great at offering bites -- they've had lots of practice with Kate.

All done!

We were at brunch for two hours and the girls were so well behaved the entire time -- what a Mother's Day treat!

Then we went to a nearby park to pose for a Mother's Day portrait.

They are all funny, in their own way, but I like them all. If you're interested, here are photos from 2006, 2007 and 2008 Mother's Days. We all came home and took naps, then we hung my present:

Suki spotted this Kershisnik print a month or so ago and told us that it was Mom. David remembered that and bought a print for me from the girls -- so perfect.

Presents from Grace, made at school.

What a sweet, wonderful Mother's Day! I hope yours was great too. Here's a bonus video from when Grace and I were out and Dad, Kate and Suki were playing:
