April 30, 2009

A happy, hearty breakfast time.

Then it was time for some art projects. These girls sure do love to paint and stamp and draw and... you know, generally make wonderful messes.

Kate prefers to focus on removing the Jet Dry cap from the dishwasher. It is one of her three main missions in life, the other two being 1. Learn how to walk and 2. Wreak havoc with her sisters.

Here is a little cooking lesson from the Three Chimp Cucina -- pie crust cookies!
Defrost those scraps of pie dough that you swear you're going to use soon but never, ever will. Preheat your oven to 375. And as illustrated in this step, measure 1/4 cup sugar into a bowl.

Then shake in about 1/4 tsp cinnamon.

Maybe a little more, by the time your sister gets her hands on the cinnamon.

Mix it up.

Roll out your dough.

Cut out your shapes.

Practice pressing all the way through the dough.

Use your little knife to pop out your dough shapes.

Brush the tops of your cut outs with egg white.

Let your sister have a turn at painting.

Wedge in a shot of the third sister, who's happy just shaking the cinnamon jar.

Take a spoon and get a scoop of the cinnamon sugar.

Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the cookies.

Then they are ready to go in the oven! Ours baked for about 15 minutes and then...

...yum!

So excited to taste a bite.

And they even shared with sweet Kate. What a fun morning.
