July 22, 2010

A lazy start to the morning after yesterday's fiasco.

Can you tell that these creatures are migrating? Grace says that you can tell they are because their backs are facing you.

We canceled our plans that required travel and sickish children and were disappointed about that. So when Aunt Tina called and invited us out for lunch locally, we decided to give it a try. First, we fed ducks.

Grace and Kate loved it.

Aunt Tina's shot of our ducky adventures.

Suki and Elena weren't so sure. I didn't see the bread Suki was still clutching here for a while -- she kept saying the ducks were going to try to eat her and I kept trying to convince her that the ducks had no interest in her. As soon as we tossed that bread away, I was right.

Kate gets on her belly to get closer to duck level.

Grace adores ducks. She was delighted to feed them.

Racing over to the carousel.

Aunt Tina took this shot of some of us waiting in line for the carousel.

From Aunt Tina's camera.

This carousel is beautiful! These guys all really loved it.

Getting a little lunch.

Cheers!

I just thought these girls were too funny during their naps. Here's Suki...

...a Kate who turned her blanket into a head scarf...

...and a Grace who shares her couch with the Big Fella.

We had -such- a fun dinner with Dawn, Gianna, Aunt Donna, Aunt Dina and Grandma! We got to swap lots of stories, make plans for our winter get together, and enjoy good food and great company.

A Gianna-Kate hug.

Grandma and Suki hang behind to see the fountain and flowers.

This game with the sticks and tree went on for much longer than you might imagine.

Then Grandma brought us to the best playground we've ever been to at the Crossings of Colonie.

Kate was thrilled with these slides -- she was the youngest on them by far but also the fastest to race around and up the ramps to get another turn.

The lovely Nora, the best friend Grace has ever made in five minutes or less. The two of them were inseparable for the entire time we were there.

Grandma reported some interesting chats to see who was going to be the boss of some of their games.

So much fun together!

What a fantastic day this turned out to be!
