July 19, 2010

It was rainy as we headed off on a tour of Albany by land and sea. Well, by river, anyway.

Girls at the plaza.

After the recent duck boat tragedy on the Delaware, I was emphatic about having my girls in life jackets before the boat went into the river. The three of them had other ideas.

I prevailed, but at the expense of some youthful good will.

Poor dears.

Suki spots some Canadian geese.

I cannot remember the name of this battle ship but Kate was mighty interested in it.

Still unhappy about her confinement.

Suki reminded me of an orange Violet Beauregard, post-gum, when she swells up to blueberry proportions.

Later, we went for a picnic in a park with Aunt Tina, Uncle Steve, Clara and Elena.

The park was kitty corner to the historic Palace theater.

Aunt Tina expressed concern for the state of the girls' bellies after their boat trip -- Kate misunderstood and tried to show her that all was well.

Enjoying the lobster lollipop treats that their cousins brought them from the Cape.

This treat hearkens back to the pops our Grandma brought us many, many years ago.

Thanking Aunt Tina!

There were so many games to play -- tree climbing, tag, and a wild one with the stroller.

Clara and Elena wanted Suki to push them, but the stroller was too heavy for her to manage. She kept them entertained by running in circles instead.

One from Christina's camera.

And another one.

Oh, there was some mighty pushing!

Reading back at the hotel.

We had such a big day planned for the next day and it was so rainy outside for a stretch -- staying in turned out to be just what we needed.

Jumping at bedtime.
