July 15, 2010

These girls set up a veterinary clinic this morning -- Suki (Jess) and Grace (Sahara) handled the horses, Kate checked in on the fish.

During the examination.

Grace: We're the Take Care-fer Sisters -- I'm Sahara and this is Jess.
Suki: What things can go wrong with baby horses?
Grace: Look at all the things that can go wrong! Diaper rash, runny nose, sore throat. We should check the baby horse for spots.
Suki: Weasels?
Grace: Neasels.
(I think what they were reaching for here was measles).
Suki: The baby horse has to show us its sickest face. They feel sick and hurt.

Suki's delighted to see Red Dog in the dog house.

Kate says: Oh Man! and clasps her arms together.

We went out and had lunch with David -- he was sandwiched in between Suki and Kate.

A little smooch.

One in return.

It was a little hard to eat with all of that coziness, but I don't think David really minded.

Sitting and (not quite in this picture, though) looking at the masks.

Heading out with David.

Kate wants so much to be able to jump. She's close, but not quite there.

Examining the pepper plants.

David fields the perpetual twins or triplets question. When we're not hearing that, it's something about Grace's haircut, Suki's hair color or Kate's curls. I wonder if every parent's used to hearing certain questions about their children over and over.
