September 9, 2008

Today was the first day of preschool!

Suki and Kate hung out while we got breakfast ready.

Clutching her button string in one hand while eating her meal.

Dancing to Dad singing Sally MacLennane.

Singing time.

Jumping out to the car.

A whole slew of before school pictures.

Suki really did not understand all the excitement but joined in all the same.

Looking up at the clouds.

Saying goodbye to Kate.

Singing Sally MacLennane in the car in the line for drop off.

Shying away from the helping hands at first.

I agreed to let Miss Colleen just take her from the car and see what happened.

A little wary but warming up.

All smiles.

Heading in to preschool for the first time!

Ready to walk in on her own.

A last wave goodbye.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Suki and Kate had a blast playing together while Mom climbed the walls waiting until it was time to go back to get Grace.

Putting a bucket on Kate's head like a hat, over and over.

We went back to get Grace and were thrilled to get a peek of her sitting at the table in her classroom.

She wasn't sure what to make of her teachers sending her out the door...

...then she caught sight of us and was all smiles.

A teacher helped her back in the car.

She was so happy to see us.

A funny shot but it captures some of the joy she had.

A kiss from mom.

It was so nice to see these papers from school.

Grace and Suki examine the preparations for our first day of school party.

Sneaky Sook nabs a cupcake.

Eying her duck plate.

Elmo, Duck and Smile balloons made these girls happy.

So happy celebrating her first day. I just love this picture.

Kate gets tickled by Dad.

We gave her a small present, a gorilla pillow.

She really liked it and it didn't take long for her to introduce him to her other primates.

These sisters were very affectionate tonight.

Suki can give herself the nebulizer treatments now.

So adorable.

Kate whoops it up.

Finishing up her dinner with Dad. What a day this has been...

Here's a report from Grace about what she did today:

Grace drank apple juice from a juice box, spilled some and the teacher was kind when she helped clean it up. She played with some ducks from a bin in the ladybug room. The class looked for clouds outside the window of the classroom. She really enjoyed scooping in the bean bin. She did not play with her friend Zoe today and does not know the name of any of the children she did play with. She came home with what appeared to be a craft but reports that a teacher glued the paper towel to the paper illustrating the need to use just one. Miss Carolyn told her that there is no playing in the mulch because it's scratchy -- apparently Grace did not try to play in it, the teacher was telling her just in case. Although there was a considerable amount of mulch in her Crocs...
