June 22, 2011

Today was Grace's field trip day -- we went to Wingaersheek Beach to examine tide pools.

She was very excited.

All ready in front of school.

On the bus -- I chaperoned Paige, Maya and Grace, so pretty much all of the pictures from the field trip feature these three girls.

This was such a giddy, joyfully noisy bus ride.

So silly, so funny.

At the beach!

Still silly

Part of the beach group -- there were 100 kindergartners and their chaperones and teachers on this trip. Controlled chaos.

Off to look for tide pools and their creatures!

Excited to find a crab!

Watching a snail make its way across.

I'd never heard of fairy shrimp until just before we caught one.

Grace's teacher takes a photo of the periwinkles we found.

Racing back from tossing a snail to safety.

Live sand dollars were a terrific find.

After a picnic lunch.

Turning over rocks to find animals beneath.

One last step into the ocean with their teacher.

What an incredible field trip!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Suki and Kate had plenty of fun with David.
