Today we returned some equipment to the hospital where Kate was born. It felt like coming full circle, bringing our family back here. We haven't been there since we left with Kate on that nerve wracking day last March. Our time that day in the NICU and the discovery of Kate's heart troubles were so rattling that I couldn't write about them then. Needless to say, there were many mixed emotions about visiting the maternity ward again.
Above all was a feeling of relief that we're done with that part of our lives, done with c-sections and uncomfortable recoveries and with the uncertainties that pregnancy and infancy bring. We're so glad that we could have the experience but are so pleased that our family is complete.
And we celebrated our Katiekins, our little caboose baby, who has rounded out our family in such a sweet way.
