Frolicking in the snow up at Grandpa's house.

Kate had such a great time with Grandpa.

Grace and Suki were a little slower to start, but they each had things they wanted to discuss.

First up, Grace discussed her passion for the bass with him. Grandpa's uncle was a bass player with the Albany Symphony Orchestra.

Chatting about Gorilla.

A fun brunch.

Grace reads with Mary.

Later, Suki wanted to talk about Antarctica. She's been asking a lot about it lately and was very interested to know that Grandpa had spent thirteen months there. He pulled out some albums of photos from that time and even gave her one of the three volcanic rocks he collected while he was there. It was such a kind gesture.

Then it was time to open some gifts.

Grace and her new sensory garden.

Suki and a lunch box identical to the mystery box from preschool. She was just so happy to have it.

Kate and her new blocks.

A girl pretending to be afraid of spiders.

Tickle time!

Kate "took-a Mary's seat!"

Then she took Grandpa's!

Next we went out to celebrate Grandma's birthday.

Off to look at some of the decorations while their food cooled.

Time for cake!

Then each girl brought over the card she'd made.

Suki and Kate bring Grandma a gift.

What a nice hug.

Looking at the mostly frozen Hudson.

In the middle of goodbyes, a spontaneous snowball fight broke out on the banks of the Hudson just as the sun started to set. It was such lovely fun.

What a perfect trip.

You should take Grace to visit Uncle John next time you are out. He's very friendly and would probably enjoy the company of a fellow bass lover.
