Grace and Dad dance to a song from Outkast's new album.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Grace also had her full six month evaluation today and I know some of you like to keep up on these things. Here are the results:
  • Gross Motor: 11 months (needs to have 3-5 independent, controlled steps to graduate to a 12 month level).
  • Self-Help: 18 months (she's mostly eating on her own, helps us dress her, removes her socks, etc.).
  • Fine Motor: 16 months (scribbling skills were not apparent today, would not complete puzzle correctly -- her therapist believes it is her stubbornness that held her back here, not a real lack of skill).
  • Cognitive: 22 months (very good at understanding what we say, follows directions, verbal ability plays in here).
  • Social: 24 months (occasional "defiant" behavior puts her ahead of the crowd! plus, self directed play, shows independence in leaving a room without me or David, etc.).
  • Language: 24 months (a high 24 months, nearly at 27 months except she would not respond when we asked her about matching function to an object. Grace's receptive and expressive language abilities are at the same level, which is very important and very good).
