October 11, 2010

These guys surely love jumping on a bed.

When they were through with that, we headed to the train station with Max, Parker, Kristina and Erik.

All ready to go!

Grace has had many a train ride this long weekend -- she's a pro now at handling a Charlie card.

We got the aquarium and watched the harbor seals while the dads bought tickets.

Kate loved seeing all of the penguin signs!

Of course, she also loved the penguins themselves. Thank goodness we'd left her penguin at home, because I have a feeling he would have taken a little swim.

Climbing near the baby anacondas.

Examining an epaulette shark.

This yellow eel was a favorite every time it came around.

This turtle, too.

Don't ask me how, but Grace always winds up in that stroller. It's nuts.

We took a little break and went to Legal Sea Foods for lunch. The irony was not lost on us but we appreciate fish in many ways.

Cleaning Kate.

Grace loves her buttered rolls so much -- she enjoys buttering her own now, breaking them apart and unwrapping the pat of butter by herself and then spreading the butter on the bread.

Suki was thrilled to enjoy her first oyster.

Just kidding -- you know how picky these girls can be. She's actually enjoying the ice scooped into the shells.

Grace and her artwork.

The girls love the boston cream pie served here as much as I do!

Back to the aquarium!

Erik won Suki over -- it's so unusual for the girl who "does not like mens" to warm up to someone new to her like this.

See what I mean? Remarkable!

Grace thinks she is so funny here!

Penguins!

Looking in at some more seals.

Enjoying the birds and the fish.

Holding a hermit crab.

Ready to get their hands in there.

Touching the starfish.

Rock climbing to see more animals.

Taking some time to look at the Boston Harbor.

Chasing pigeons and sea gulls.

A little chat. I've been friends with Kristina since I was fifteen, and it is so sweet seeing our children playing together now.

The signs of fatigue were setting in quickly at this point.

Falling asleep on the train ride home.

Sooo sleepy!

The sort of group shot you get after an exhausting day like this!

Playing with a dog back at the ranch.

Here are some pictures Kristina took today:

What a fun weekend with friends.

Even though I was there, it was so fun to see your take on the day. I know you had your camera out now and again, but I'm amazed at all the wonderful shots you got! We had such a great weekend with you, and the boys had such a wonderful time with the girls. We will definitely have to get together again soon!
