February 7, 2009

Today was really a perfect day. We slept in and then we planned a trip to a book store and then a little lunch treat at one of our favorite local restaurants. It was so beautiful outside we wound up scrapping all of that and playing in our yard, going for a wagon ride and having a blast on the playground.

Tossing leaves and pretending it's Fall.

Examining the new buds on the trees.

Cute cute cute.

Gathered at the front step.

All three sisters piled into the wagon for a ride. Kate especially had such a fun time with this!

Running around the neighborhood.

Giggling because I "couldn't catch up" to their antics.

We collected lots of outdoor treasures, like pine needles to smell and feel, helicopter petals to contemplate, and tiny handfuls of snow to toss to the bottom of the wagon to see if they really would melt like their mom said.

Today we had lots of playground firsts. Kate went in a swing for the first time.

Thrilled.

Grace went in the swing for one of the first last times in the baby swing.

Checking Suki out.

Suki went in the big kid swing for the first time and did not fall out once.

Grace proved herself a very able jumper. She was so much more adept at the playground today, going up and down steps and the slide and jumping like this, I'm not sure if it's because of physical therapy or preschool or most likely a combination of both but the difference today from last Fall was dramatic.

First time getting on the chipmunk by herself.

Suki headed down the slide by herself.

Grace made a first attempt at climbing this little ladder.

Down the slide!

Suki managed to get all the way up over and over.

We spotted her carefully most of the time, especially at the top but it really wasn't necessary. Suki's very good at this kind of thing.

Down the slide with Dad.

Down again. You can't see from this angle but she loved it.

Time to head home for lunch.

Do you see how we wore Kate out? She's trying to catch a little nap there leaning on the side of the wagon.

A little video from this morning:
