September 18, 2006

We keep Grace's clips in this little porcelain box and the girl loves to play with them, taking them in and out. Even though she does this just about every day, they always seem to surprise her -- she whispers "oh!" when she pours them out, and as she puts them back in she counts them and occasionally declares "I'm missing one!" Today she held one up and said "It's pink! Yeah, good." She is such a funny girl. When the box is empty, she holds it up to her mouth, clucks her tongue and says "ah," so as to indicate she's enjoying her "coffee." Then she shares some with her bear.

She loves this caterpillar from Leapfrog -- it teaches colors, numbers, but her favorite feature is the classical music. Each segment features a different composer. In a shameless brag, I will tell you that Grace knows the name of each (Mozart, Boccherini, Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven) and will request different songs by name of the composer-- it's so cute. Particularly Vivaldi, which comes out more like "the baby," but what can you do? Here she's getting her frog to dance along with the music.

Apparently the theme of today's post is brag your little heart out. I was so amazed at how Grace has memorized The Very Hungry Caterpillar -- she loves to "read" it aloud.
