October 14, 2014

These three have some of their finest displays of patience when they can choose to do whatever they like on their own Apple devices -- we had quite an hour at the Apple store today resolving my most recent shenanigans.

Costume place, where the endless search for a fancy Pilgrim bonnet continued.

There was something so charming about seeing my big girls on these rides :)

Somehow they talked me into buying these Splat balls -- they are hideous things that flatten out when thrown on a hard surface, then resume their shape.

We went to a Duwali festival after lunch, with our friends Rohita and Harsheta. Grace was first in line for the henna.

Coloring with markers, glue and sand.

Super serious about henna :)

My Benadryled Suki, holding it together -- she had some bites on her hand and arm that were causing a pretty rough reaction.

Kate practicing her henna drawing while she waited for her turn.

She came up with several questions for the henna artist, who was so sweet and warm in her answers.

Grace and Rohita.

We spent part of the morning researching Diwali -- Grace wanted to create jewelry ahead of time to dress up for the holiday, and then in total adorable Grace style, she brought a toy carpet viper because they're found in India.

Harsheta and Kate.

Would you have ever imagined Kate obsessed with an Indian food buffet? It happened today, she was especially focused on the Coconut Burfi.

Browsing for new library books.

Efforts to retrieve Splat Balls from the ceiling -- they remained a remarkably long time.
