December 16, 2007

So cute, and at least temporarily a way to keep Suki still. I don't think she knew how to get out of this chair and so she sat there as our guests arrived for this morning's brunch. I finally realized what we'd done when she slowly started to inch herself forward and out. She managed to do it without toppling over, though, so I suspect this will not be an effective way to contain a wild Sook.

Some guests at the children's table. It's startling to realize you're old enough to set up a children's table.

There are times when Grace is so patient with Suki, I just don't know how she does it, especially when Suki is crawling all over her or taking away toys, etc. Grace knows she can ask for help if she needs it but more often than not the two of them settle things in their own (mostly) peaceful way.

Sharing the piano.

Grace has bizarrely started to refer to herself as Mishlingaling when she's feeling recalcitrant, as in Mishlingaling wants to pull the ornament or Mishlingaling does want to watch commercials. We have no idea whether it's a garbling of some phrase or something she concocted on her own. But it's hilarious and we've started bandying it about ourselves when we're feeling punchy.
