May 9, 2006

Today was a day of two firsts for Grace, one we were very proud of, the other -- not so much. Here, we'll start with the latter.

The first first: Grace realized she can be a picky eater. She usually loves carrots, but today she refused to eat more than a bite. I tried to give her some fruit, but she wouldn't stop saying "cheese cheese cheese." She wouldn't eat anything, so I caved and gave her the cheese. Here you'll see her eating a bite...

...and just look at how thrilled she is when she realizes she can get her way. This brilliant move on my part may have paved the way for the rest of the day, because her picky eating just continued. Suddenly she hates carrots and bread and if things continue this way, she's going to turn into a block of cheese and self-satisfaction.

This sweet girl -- just look at how excited she gets to see her dad.

Kelly, Grace's physical therapist, came over today. This led to the second first, as Grace is doing so well at pulling up, standing up and cruising that she moved on to this push-along toy.

Look at how well she is doing! She managed to take several steps forward while holding on to the handle. Grace being Grace, she was a little distracted by trying to push Kelly's hand off of the handle. We were so proud of our little monkey today.
