November 27, 2009

We discovered today that we had a recent potential TB exposure -- Kate and Grace's cough had been concerning me for a few days and once I heard that I decided to take them have their pediatrician take a quick listen to their chests.

Kate mid-cough.

Suki stayed behind with David and Jeff, running up and down the roller coaster route.

Once at the doctor's office, we were asked to mask up.

There was middling success at masking.

Showing her rubber duck the ducks in the pond outside.

I was relieved to hear that their lungs sound good and their doctor and I agreed that there was probably no need to do the skin test or x-rays unless they start seeming sicker.

Back at home, Grace helps Suki rebuild her Tinkertoys bridge and Kate slams the container on the coffee table.

Looking back to see if I notice the slamming.

Suki eats lunch.

Kate takes a drink.

Grace looks with interest at our two pies -- this one and this one (but with double the spices).

Sweet Sook had such a great time cuddling with David today.

Kate munches a cinnamon streusel muffin for breakfast.

We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade -- Kate got her first earful of Gloria Gaynor.

And of course there was chips and dip. We were lucky enough to have our dear friend Jeff here for Thanksgiving and Kate really took a shine to him.

Working on an art project while our turkey took its sweet time in the oven.

Ready to eat!

Dessert time.

Just look at how much different my Kate is this year!

Kate plays with Jeff on the couch.

Ready for dinner!

Grace today was thankful for chocolate pie and monkeys and her family. Suki was thankful for her toys. Kate was thankful for "good," which likely meant the food on her plate. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

David tied this bow in Kate's hair when he got her up from her nap.

A little cut off but I just couldn't resist this smile.

An under the weather Grace.

Getting ready for the day!

For a special treat, we had pancake people for breakfast!

One last time with the color game with the granny squares.

We said goodbye to Grandma and started on the trip home.

Stamping in their little books.

Kate laughing it up.

The shot I wish I'd got: Kate trying to sneak up on four priests innocently trying to enjoy their lunch. She climbed into a booth opposite them and peeked over at their french fries -- we retrieved her as soon as she started the peeking but it was such an adorable combination of chimpery and piety, mischief and innocence. It seemed inappropriate to take the photo but you can imagine the sight.
