January 16, 2011

David and Suki work on their puzzle.

Grace practices with the Magna Tiles.

Adorable Kate.

All done!

Grace wanted to make a teddy bear today, so we found a pattern and assembled our materials.

We pinned it to the fabric.

We cut it out.

And then Grace stitched all the way around the bear, only getting poked a few times with the needle. Each time, she checked her skin for holes, just in case.

Two tough guys looking on.

Enjoying a smoothie together.

Meanwhile, Grace had finished her stitching.

Not bad for a first try!

We turned the bear inside out...

...and gave him a face.

Then we stuffed him.

I helped with the cutting, the face, and the stitching of the final seam, but you can tell from the proud look on Grace's face how pleased she is to have made this bear mostly on her own.

My little trio.
