April 16, 2008

Today we had an impromptu trip to the playground in the wagon. You can tell it was impromptu by the combination of too-small hats on these girls.

Kate took her first trip in Aunt Tina's sling, too.

Grace takes a look inside to see Kate.

Ready to swing (and also doing their best Uncle Earl impressions with the hats pulled low on their heads).

There are some new houses going in on the land behind the playground -- you can see some of the equipment in these pictures.

Dad and Grace are so sweet together.

Suki would not get off these swings!

Can you spy the hidden girl?

Down the slide and time to go home.

I can't believe how well this sling worked out!

Kate loved it and didn't mind the transition out either, surprisingly.

Sisters all cuddled up.

We had some mixed news for Kate today at the doctor's office -- the good news is she's gaining weight again, and at an average of an ounce per day she is right on target for newborns. The bad news is that her milk protein intolerance is still bothering her, so whereas a week ago the pediatrician hoped that my avoidance of obvious dairy products would help her out, I now must look at ingredient lists for any foods I eat to make sure there's no whey or casein or any other tiny quantities of hidden dairy. Some more good news is that there is still no indication we'll need to switch for formula, further good news is that this is still all expected to be managed within a few weeks (meaning she should be symptom free by then).

Below there are three videos from today, one for each girl:
