David is very ill today -- when the girls heard, they immediately fetched their animals, some blankets, and created their little animal hospital to help the wee creatures feel better. They did not like hearing about David under the weather one bit, but I think this was their way to tangentially provide comfort.

Perhaps anticipating his impending precipitous decline in health and increased need for care, David sent these yesterday. Just kidding, it was such a sweet gesture.
Suki was moved to tears on January 1 when she realized that a gingerbread house was not part of my holiday plans. Mind you, she'd never mentioned it before but it was sad to see her weep over something like this -- the timing was very fortunate, though, because there are gorgeous houses on incredible sales right now.
