Suki is storming off because... well, I can't even remember why, but it wasn't terribly serious. Grace and Kate are enchanted by this monster, though.
From the mouths of my wee heathens... we were driving into Cambridge today and paused at this church for a red light. Suki remarked: "That statue of liberty is holding a basketball!"
Suki had promised me that she would make her best try at this whole dentist thing... but she couldn't hold it together past the point when the hygienist tried to recline the chair. I don't mean there were some whimpers of complaint, I mean that at one point she had tossed the proffered toothbrush to the floor, whirled around to land on all fours in the chair, ripped the pillow from the headrest and flung it to the tiles below. It was not her finest moment, let's say. Fortunately, we have found the most patient pediatric dentist practice ever, and so we all decided to reschedule for six months from now.
Kate, however, was determined to have her turn in the chair. She climbed right up and demanded the paper bib.
Tossing the leaves that had collected in the sandbox -- this was the kind of beautiful afternoon that makes me so happy that we've moved back here. It was gorgeous.
