February 20, 2007

I wore this dress when I was a girl, today I decided to try it on Grace. It worked, as a shirt :) She's a lot taller than I was at her age.

I swear this one wasn't staged, but Grace choosing to read Puppies Are Like That made this picture just perfect -- it was a favorite of mine when I was small.

One more -- she's so sweet.

David and I love this sweater Aunt Tina made -- so does Suki.

Balancing in the palm of Dad's hand.

Reading Fluffy Chick in Dad's office.

One of my favorite pictures of our girls ever.

Playing with letters.

Refusing to nap... very frustrating.

Time for PlayDoh!

She's getting better at playing with PlayDoh using the implements but is still reluctant to use it with just her fingers.

The lowercase letters have their moment in the sun.

Also today: drawing! She loves this MagnaDoodle. Today, for the first time unprompted, she named something she'd drawn. It's quite realistic, can you see it? It's the candy cane at the center!

Suki in the sun.

Tiny feet!

Reading on the couch together. The book? 'Twas the Night Before Christmas -- a favorite of Grace's this week.

Suki gives her sister the eye.

Getting wild with her pants on her head.

Profile.

I love her hair here -- she looks so much older!

Contemplating her books.

Grace can stack 9 blocks now, but on the tenth block...

...the tower takes a tumble.

I hope you don't think I'm mean to snap a picture, but this was the tenth time this scene played out: she built a tower, it fell over, she burst into tears of disappointment and almost immediately began to rebuild. She is a very determined girl.

Also, let's not paint too idyllic a picture of life around here :) At the same time Grace set to wailing, Suki decided it was time for her to chime in too.

Baby's first mohawk.

A happier girl.

I just love this bear outfit.

February 16, 2007

Grace loves playing with her animals.

Sweet pea!

Trying to rock her sister to sleep.

So proud of herself.

A quick breakfast and then...

...time to get ready for our Friday craft: Dora bracelets!

After we cut out the three bracelets (I definitely did most of the work on this one).

Writing her name on the bracelet.

Grace examines her hands for any traces of marker.

We taped them together and Grace takes a look. She was so excited to have her Dora bracelets that I thought she would want to put one on...

...but this is the only picture of her wearing it. Really, more a picture of her trying to tear it off. Another point of control? Who knows.

Looking at all of that Dora made her want some stars, so I made some out of cardboard and aluminum foil.

And then she wanted a moon to go with them. She raced around the house calling out "Are you running with the moon and the stars?" So happy.
The moon and the star!

Suki wakes up from her nap.

Tummy time.

She's getting so good at holding her head up and looking around.

Little forehead wrinkles.

Sweet pea, Part II.

Grace gives Suki a kiss before she heads up for her nap.

Quiet time with Sook.
