Grace examines a gift from a neighbor. Note the post-nap hair :) Their five year old daughter made the ornament for us, she included a card that read, "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. You did a good job moving in." How sweet is that? The cookies are from her parents.

So David and I really had some fun with it ourselves. Here's a candy cane and snowman I made -- she was not particularly interested in mashing these, either. In fact, she kept asking for the shapes we made for the rest of the day.

I wasn't paying a lot of attention when Grace told me she saw a cat. I figured it was in a book or something! But she was so persistent I had to take a look -- it was our neighborhood cat right outside our door!
Grace was so excited and absolutely charmed.
She really loves this cat, who we sometimes see on our after-dinner walks.
